    HOW TO HELP US

    One of the main purposes of the Exercise Book Archive is to make the stories and heritage of children and young people from the past and around the world available to everyone.

    We are a willing but small organisation, and we need the help of people from all over the world to carry out the project.

    We are looking for two types of volunteers:

     

    • TRANSCRIBERS
    to help us transcribe the contents of hand-written notebooks in many different languages (some of which no longer exist!)

     

    • TRANSLATORS
    to take the contents that have been transcribed from the original languages and translate them into English (in the future, we plan to add translations to other languages).

     

    Note:
    • Volunteering is only allowed on the desktop version of the website.
    • Can you help us improve content that has already been transcribed and / or translated? Please contact us and send us a link to the content and your comments.

      In the exercise books' texts, you will deal with during your volunteering activity, you may find the names of people, places, and other personal or sensitive data. We always hide this kind of data from the material that we use for public activities, but of course, we can only do this after the texts have been transcribed and translated. This means that you will have a "privileged" access to our material, so we ask you not to spread the information that you find in it. Thank you!
